The Life of David - Part 11, James Clarke
Episode notes
he Life of David – Part 11: Breakthrough!
For years, David has been waiting for God's promise to be fulfilled. He's endured betrayal, persecution, exile and civil war. But now, in 2 Samuel 5, the barriers begin to fall. David is finally crowned King of all Israel, the seemingly impregnable fortress of Jerusalem is conquered, and Israel's most formidable enemies, the Philistines, suffer a crushing defeat. Three extraordinary breakthroughs that change the course of Israel's history.
In this episode, we discover what David's victories teach us about waiting for God's timing, trusting him in seemingly impossible situations, and recognising that real breakthroughs come from the Lord. As we look to Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection brought about the greatest breakthrough of all, we're encouraged to keep trusting, working and praying for God to advance his Kingdom, transform lives and open doors for the gospel.
