Mark 4:1-9, 13-20

Jesus tells His disciples that understanding the parable of the sower is key to understanding all the parables (Mark 4:13). God sovereignly - not haphazardly - sows His Word, and His Word always accomplishes His purpose. Yet not every seed produces lasting fruit; good soil is necessary, and even this is the gracious work of God. From beginning to end, salvation belongs to the Lord. Yet this truth is not given to shut sinners out, but to call them in: “He who has ears, let him hear.” Hear and receive the Word, and come to Jesus Christ, the one Way, the one Truth, and the one Life.
