The sexy Latina, self-esteem and body politics

Welcome to "Is That Us? Podcast,” a podcast where we talk about Latina representation in film and television and why it matters.

In this episode, we discuss the portrayal of the "sexy Latina" in the media and how it affects Latinas' self-esteem and body image. We also explore how this stereotype has been perpetuated in film and television and the impact it has on the way Latinas see themselves and are perceived by society.

Our guests for today are two amazing mujeres, Mayra Chavez and Karely Ordaz Salto, whom I am lucky to call friends.

Join us as we delve into this important topic and work towards creating a more authentic and diverse representation of Latinas in media. So sit back, relax, and let's get started.
