Anchored in Christ & Alive with Joy -- A study in Philippians

by Marie Bruner

Intro to Philippians

Debbie Walker provided an introduction to our Summer Study on Philippians; unfortunately, some of the comments were not picked up by the microphone and were deleted to avoid long pauses in the audio -- please forgive me! They were excellent and vital comments...hopefully, this will be useful as we proceed. Thank you for your patience with my first attempt at GarageBand editing;D

Philippians 1:12-19

Today, we discussed the middle section of Chapter 1 of Philippians. Unfortunately, audio was not working when we discussed the beginning. Thank you for your patience as I continue to learn the audio equipment and process.

Philippians 1:19-26

Today's discussion on Philippians 1:19-26 focuses on the eternal mindset as the lens we need as we walk through life.

Philippians 1:27-40 to 2:4

We finished up Philippians 1 and have begun Chapter 2.

The Incarnation, Humility and Humiliation of Christ

Focused discussion on Philippians 2:5-11

Philippians 2:12-30

Today's discussion on working out our salvation and the beauty of ordinary people devoted to Jesus.

Philippians 3:1-11

Today's discussion about the gift of justification and the joy we have because "Christ is supremely better" -- who can forget Debbie's burger ad analogy?

Philippians 3:12-21

In this week’s study of Philippians 3:12–21, we followed Paul’s journey from perseverance to perspective, from warning to hope. Together, we explored what it means to press on when we haven’t yet arrived, to leave the past behind, to pursue spiritual maturity, to follow faithful examples, to guard our hearts against earthly distractions, and to live as citizens of heaven. Paul’s message reminds us that the Christian life is not about perfection but about faithfully pursuing Christ day by day, knowing that the One who has made us His own will one day complete the work He has begun in us.

Philippians 4:1-9

This is a recording of our time together; not everything may be audible due to a phone having been used to record...but we did the best we could;D

Philippians 4:10-23

This is a recording (unfortunately by phone) of our final session on Philippians. My sound system didn't work and I didn't have enough time to troubleshoot so I just clicked record on my phone and did my best.
