Let's draw monkeys swinging in the trees

Today I want to draw monkeys swinging in the tree branches. We'll draw two big, strong trees with lots of branches so the monkeys have a place to play. We'll draw three silly monkeys, swinging and leaping! It will be your artist choice to decide what you should draw below the trees on the ground. Here are 3 ideas you can wonder about based on our drawing today: Why do monkeys like to play in trees? Monkeys leap and climb to get to where they want to go. Is leaping and climbing a good way for you to get where you need to go? Why do leaping monkeys have long tails? Let's draw a magician pulling a rabbit from his hat

Today I want to draw a magician pulling a rabbit from his hat. A magician does a lot of interesting magic tricks. We'll draw a magician on stage, his top hat with a rabbit coming out, a magic wand, a magic box, and a magic scarf of many colors. What types of magic will you draw in your box? Until we draw together again next time, here are some ideas your imagination can wonder about based on our drawings: How do rabbits get in the magician’s hat? How do magicians learn their tricks? If you had a magic wand, what magic would you do with it? Listeners, subscribers and reviewers, I appreciate you so much for being here! Let's draw a Venus flytrap

Today I want to draw a Venus flytrap. These are carnivorous plants, which means they are plants that eat bugs. I'll walk you through drawing a few Venus flytraps and tell you a little bit about them. We'll draw some flies buzzing around, and it's up to you if the Venus flytrap catches one. Here are 3 things your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing: Venus flytraps and flies have different perspectives. Do you have a different perspective from someone? What do you think is more fun, being a Venus flytrap or a fly?? Do you think the Venus flytrap and the fly will ever see each other’s perspectives Listeners, subscribers and reviewers, I appreciate you endlessly! Let's draw a desert scene

Today I want to draw a desert scene. This scene will show the flat, sandy desert with two cacti. a butte with sedimentary layers, a rattle snake from deserts of the western hemisphere, and a camel from the eastern hemisphere. We talk about how some artists like drawing with accuracy and some like drawing abstract and both are cool! Here are 3 things your imagination can wonder about based on our drawing: We drew a rattle snake and a camel-- which would you rather ride across the desert? Why do you think deserts all over the world have the same climate but different animals? Some artists like to draw accurately, some love abstract, some love both, what’s your favorite way to draw? Let's draw a chicken crossing road

Today I want to draw a chicken crossing the road. This drawing is based on one of my favorite jokes, which I can't wait to tell you! We'll draw a chicken, a road, a chicken coop, and a basket of eggs that the farmer collected. Here are 3 things your imagination can wonder about based on your drawing: Can you think of other reasons for the chicken to cross the road? How can you help the chicken cross the road safely? Can you think of a funny joke all by yourself? Let's draw a fancy princess

Today I want to draw a fancy princess. She'll have a fancy dress that we get to imagine and design, and of course fancy hair and jewelry. She has gems on her crown that were passed down to her from the queens before her. But what else was passed down? She'll be holding one object in each hand, both representing what type of ruler she is. Here are 3 things your imagination can wonder about based on our picture: Do you like to feel fancy? Why or why not? What makes a kind and good ruler of the people? Our princess had a lot passed down to her - gems, stories, and a reminder that she’s powerful. What do you want to pass down in your family?

Let's draw a chef in the kitchen

Today I want to draw a chef, cooking in his kitchen. We'll draw his classic hat and apron. We will make a big pot for soup and lots of veggies and other ingredients. You get to come up with a secret ingredient for the recipe. Here are 3 things your imagination can wonder about related to our drawing today: Do you think the soup your chef made will taste good? Why are chef’s hats tall? Can you imagine coming up with your own recipe? Thank you for drawing with me today! Here are a few ways to support the show and check our artist work.

Let's draw a before and after picture of cleaned up pollution [Happy Earth Day!]

Today, in honor of Earth Day and Earth Month, I want to draw a before and after picture of cleaned up pollution. We'll fold the paper in half to divide the picture. On one side of the paper, we'll draw a polluted scene, with a sad tree and a sludgy pond. Then, we'll imagine the scene cleaned up. On the other side of the paper, we'll draw a tree and a pond thriving in a clean environment. Until we draw together again next time, here are somethings your imagination can wonder about: Which side of your paper do you want to live on? When you try to help the environment, should you try to be perfect? Or just give it a try? Where does pollution come from?

Let's draw a racoon sneaking through the garbage [Happy Earth Day!]

Today, in honor of Earth Day and Earth Month, I want to draw a racoon digging through the trash bin to eat some discarded food. We'll draw a trash bin, a cute and mischievous raccoon, and lots of garbage. We'll wonder about where so much garbage comes from and if we can do anything to create less trash--even if it makes the racoon a little sad. Why do raccoons and trash pandas like to eat from humans’ trash cans? What’s one way you can take good care of the earth? If your garbage can super full, why do you think that is?

Let's draw a tree house

Today I want to draw a tree house. The tree house can be a place call our own and feel safe. We'll start with a big strong tree trunk and branches. Then a tree house with a door and window. And we'll add a few different creative ways to get up and down. There will be lots of artistic choices to be made, like the shape of the window, and what kind of swing the tree house should have. Here are a few things your imagination can wonder about: When you look around outside, do you see any trees with branches where a tree house could go? Why is it important to have multiple ways to get up and down into your tree house? If you had a tree house, would you invite people in, or let it be your own special place?
