In this Bible study, we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the Scriptures with the books of Joshua and Judges, focusing on the Jews and the land. Joshua records Israel’s triumphant entry into the Promised Land under God’s leadership, the miraculous crossing of the Jordan, the conquest of Jericho by faith, the defeat at Ai due to hidden sin, the strategic victories over Canaanite kings, and the division of the land among the tribes. We explore rich typology: the Jordan crossing as a picture of entering spiritual rest and sanctification in Christ, the stones as memorials of identification with His death and resurrection, and the incomplete conquest due to compromise.
