Aspartic acid, like ornithine, is very important for removing waste nitrogen by helping the body to form urea.. Aspartic acid also has many functions in the body including nerve transmission, resorption of sodium in the sweat and the enhancement of energy metabolism. This amino acid is also a critical component needed to make the special bases that are used to construct the body's DNA and RNA. So it has a major role in growth, development and repair processes. Aspartic acid is also lost in high quantities from the urine. This is the final podcast in this series.
Ornithine: optimise energy utilisation.
Ornithine is not used for making proteins, but has many roles important roles in daily metabolism and supporting an active lifestyle. As a high demand amino acid, it is used in multiple metabolic pathways to form key components in the body and it is also lost in great quantities in sweat. Ornithine plays a very important role in the removal of waste nitrogen, helping the body to form urea. If this removal of waste nitrogen does not occur efficiently, it can leave to the build-up of toxic ammonia in the body which leads to fatigue and poor brain function. Scientific investigations have shown that supplementation with ornithine can reduce fatigue, increase the efficiency of energy consumption, suppresses appetite and stimulates the utilisation of fats.
Lysine: energy for brain, heart and muscles

Carnitine is made by the body to enable the transport of large fat molecules (fatty acids) into the power houses of our cells to burn for energy. These powerhouses are called mitochondria, and they need carnitine to carry the fats from outside to inside the mitochondria. Without sufficient carnitine, then the body is limited in its capacity to utilise fats for energy. Lysine is a high-demand amino acid found in OptimAAte and ElectrAAte. .

HDAA Power: Unlocking Peak Performance and Recovery
It is important to understand how fluid loss during exercise impacts your capacity to perform. In the loss of sweat fluid, you lose electrolytes and high-demand amino acids. By taking fluids electrolytes and HDAA, you can comprehensively replenish vital components that help you maintain your focus, concentration and full functionality of the body.
HDAA Essential: Do you really have hydration under control?
When you sweat, you can easily lose 500mL to 2 litres of fluid per hour. You can lose more in hot conditions and when it is hot, manual laborers can lose 10-14 litres per day . Most people know that you lose electrolytes in this sweat fluid and that it is important to replenish electrolytes as well as fluid. But most people do not realise that you also lose amino acids. In particular, you lose a group of six amino acids known as the high-demand amino acids (HDAA) at much faster rates than the other amino acids. When you are exercising, the body replenishes the losses of HDAA by breaking down muscle proteins to release the amino acids it needs. The more muscle protein that you breakdown, the longer the recovery phase will be because there is more muscle protein to rebuild. Supplementing with the HDAA during and immediately after exercise can help reduce the the breakdown of muscle proteins and thus reduce recovery times.

The immune defence system uses vast quantities of amino acids to build the necessary immune proteins your need to fight infection.
