Why did God wash the earth?

The most obvious answer to the question of why God flooded the world is the one given twice in the first few verses. Genesis 6:5-7 tells us that the Lord saw how wicked humanity had become, that every inclination of our hearts was to do evil. And he determined to wipe us from the face of the earth.

What God declares clean?

ESV And the voice came to him again a second time, "What God has made clean, do not call common." NIV The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean." NASB Again a voice came to him a second time, 'What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.
