How do you verbally disarm a narcissist?

Bear in mind that a narcissist is crueller and more daring than you will ever be, and has spent years practising their put-downs and their gaslighting. So you are in an unfair fight.

The best way to deal with any narcissist is to close them down, rather than take them on. You avoid eye contact, you walk away when they try to talk to you (mumble an excuse if you must) , you tell them nothing, you look over their shoulder, you spend the absolute minimum time in their company.
