Roald Dahl, James & the Giant Peach, and Activities to Engage Student Readers

Cultivating & Integrating Literacy Across the Curriculum by Howard Slepkov

Episode notes

Roald Dahl's books have been printed 250 million times and he has been considered by The London Times as one of the best authors of children's books of the 20th Century. James and the Giant Peach was one of his earliest books. It tells the fantastical tale of a magic peach grown from magic seeds and inhabited by anthropomorphic insect characters. James and these characters meet and strange events take them across the Atlantic to New York City. Read or listen to the wonderful story and then engage in some of the activities I have outlined in this podcast.
