I'm Happy, I'm Carefree, and I'm Gay (1970 Gay Liberation Movement)
"Ain't no fault, it's a fact...I was born this way" Pride Month did not just happen one day, it took years of dedicated individuals who fought against legislation and societal rules to simply exist. The Disco Queens dive into the start of the Gay Liberation movement looking at the Stonewall riot, S.T.A.R. founders Marsha P. Johnson and Rivera, and other moments in 1970 that created the ripple effect to over turn federal legislation that we continue to see in present day. So grab your disco queens, grab a drink, and let's heal together!

Thirty-Six, Twenty-Four, Thirty-Six (Expectation of Women's Physical Appearance )
36-24-36 used to be a "winning" hand, but now just reminds us of the unrealistic expectations on women's bodies and overall appearance. What we wear, what physical size we are, and how we age. We have heard the comments since childhood that have formed the mold we thought we needed to fit into. This week the Disco Queens look through a retrospective lens and discuss their own experiences of how the expectation of women's body is supposed to "look" shaped their own thoughts about themselves. Grab your disco queens, grab your snacks, and let's heal together!

They survived all of your childhood, teen hood, and 20s, but they were in their 20s once too. This week the Disco Queens invite their own special Disco Queen moms to discuss what they experienced in their 20s, how they navigated it, and what they would tell their younger self.
