When Your Soul Is Drowning
Episode notes
Episode 11 — When Your Soul Is Drowning
Sometimes depression doesn’t look like completely falling apart. Sometimes it looks like getting up every morning, going to work, answering the phone, taking care of everyone else, smiling when someone asks if you’re okay—and quietly drowning underneath it all.
In this deeply personal episode of God, Me and the Lighthouse, we sit with the words of Psalm 42:11 and talk about what it means to speak hope to your own soul when your emotions are telling you there is none left. We talk about the invisible battles people carry, the exhaustion of pretending to be okay, and the reminder that feeling discouraged does not mean God has forgotten where you are.
When Your Soul Is Drowning is for anyone who has ever felt tired in a way sleep couldn’t fix, surrounded by people but still alone, or unsure how much longer they can keep carrying what’s inside. Even in the deepest water, God is still present. Your pain does not get the final word. There is still hope, there is still purpose, and there is still a light worth reaching for.
