We know the burdens of having an incarcerated loved one, especially a spouse. Today we talk about the ugly side of having a spouse incarcerated and how to overcome life without them present. Tameka Means is the CEO of Prison Love Mindset ™ and serves as a relationship coach and Certified Behavior Change Specialist for women with incarcerated spouses. She specializes in teaching prison wives how to live happily alone so they can start saying yes to new experiences and live with no regrets. As a former prison wife with two babies, she overcame her depression and won numerous awards in fitness, sales and traveled internationally. Now that her husband, Sean is home, she is a huge advocate for wives understanding the prison experience to promote long-lasting, healthy, recidivism-reducing relationships. Tameka provides couples coaching from the pre-incarceration through post-incarnation phase. She is also the creator of Positive Productive Prison Community, a group that focuses on connecting prison related services to the prison impacted community.

On this episode, we have the pleasure of talking with Tia Jamison, LMHP about the importance of recognizing, coping and managing symptoms of depression and anxiety as a working professional! Tia talks about the importance of self-care, effective coping skills and knowing when to seek professional help before it's too late!!! Tia is a Supervisee in Social Work located in Martinsville, VA. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University. Tia has worked in the social work field for the last 9 years in a variety of social work backgrounds including Crisis/Behavioral Health, Home HealthCare, and Managed Care. Tia is passionate about working in Mental Health and currently holds a position as a Clinical Supervisor, clinically supervising a team of awesome qualified mental health professions that work in the Community Stabilization Program at a local Mental Health Agency. In her spare time, she works as an Emergency Response Team Counselor. Tia is an advocate for self-care and taking care of yourself in order to be your best possible self and in order to take care of others.
