Episode notes
We have officially crossed the halfway mark, and the stakes have never been higher! In Part 3 of The GeekCast Radio Network’s Top 100 Animated Series 15th Anniversary Edition, hosts TFG1Mike, Steve Megatron, and OptimusSolo are pulling off the ultimate resurrection. For the first time in 15 years, legendary co-host DirT (formerly of That New Toy Smell) emerges from his hermit shack to give his completely unfiltered, grumpy-old-man reactions to numbers 50 through 26.
The data gets heavy in this block as OptimusSolo tracks how much animation history has shifted. We break down the massive point ranges (climbing from 1,148 to 1,689 points) and reveal the ultimate historical math: our #51 show pulled in enough points to completely shatter the top rankings from 15 years ago. With two massive ties, two shows that actually received #1 votes from contributors, and three dark-horse entries that weren't even in the Top 100 last time, this block is a total battlefield. Will the 90s powerhouse era hold off the surging wave of modern masterpieces?
What you’ll get out of this episode:
- The official reveal of numbers 50-26 on the 2026 all-time list.
- DirT’s triumphant, hilarious return and his raw reactions to the rankings.
- A deep dive into the stats: 12 tracking climbs up to 61 spots, while 10 classic shows take a dive.
- Sneak peeks at the final stretch before we enter the legendary Top 25.
