Episode notes
This Minute Matters. At the Jordan River, John hesitates. “I need to be baptized by you.” But Jesus says, “Let it be so, to fulfill all righteousness.” Why would Jesus be baptized? Not for repentance. He had no sin. He stepped into the water for identification, to stand where we stand, to stand, “I am with you.” And in so doing, he defined righteousness. It’s not just avoiding wrong; it’s obedience, even when you don’t have to. Before he ever preached, before he healed, he chose obedience. Then heaven opened. This minute matters because God’s greatest affirmation follows simple obedience. So if you’re wondering if that next step matters, it does. Find us online at newt-chapel.org.
