Horror has a gatekeeping problem...nowhere is that more evident than "elevated horror" or "art-house horror" as it's otherwise known. The term elevated horror popped up around 2019 with films from the production company A24, Blumhouse and other smaller production houses. Since 2019 the term has taken on a life of it's own, to the detriment of the horror community. In this episode we talk about Elevated horror, Art House Horror, Avant Garde Horror...or whatever other name you want to call it. Thanks so much for watching everybody!
