Mission - Our marching orders

We are in a season of unusual openness to the gospel - we have a window of opportunity that as a church we want to maximise, but mobilising and equipping ordinary believers to catch hold of what God is doing and to step into God's story of what He is doing in our world. Glen kicks off our series on Mission with our marching orders - looking at understanding the Great Commission in Matthew 28 a little deeper; and how it can shift our focus as to what evangelism is.

In our final look at James in today's episode, Glen looks at how Jesus calls us to persevere through our pain, and to not medicate - but let God do his invaluable work through trials, so that we can become mature. We also take a look at the concept of Ignatian indifference (very different to the English word's meaning) to become free to serve God in every circumstance.

He highlights the story of Erik Weihenmayer, a blind climber who climbed Everest and the Seven Summits, and also kayaked the Grand Canyon. Because Erik cannot see, he depends deeply on listening. We also focus on Jesus as our perfect example - grounded in scripture - living out God's instruction and wisdom perfectly.
