Season 1
14 Episodes Later... | Ep. 18
Season 1 is officially coming to a close! πŸ’πŸ”₯ Over the last 14 conversation episodes, we wrestled with why the concept of "church" still matters in today's world. Does someone have to go to church to be a believer? In short, no...but we spent the whole season deep-diving why the Bible argues it's a really wise idea for you to be involved in a local church πŸ˜‰ We also talked about what it means to follow Jesus, what a healthy church looks like, why discipleship matters, how to disciple other women, and what it looks like to faithfully pass the baton of faith to the next generation. In this special season finale, we're looking back at the biggest lessons we've learned throughout the season and revisiting the conversations that shaped us most. From practical discipleship to enduring faith, we're connecting the dots and asking: "What does it actually look like to live a life fully devoted to Jesus?" Whether you've been with us since episode 1 or you're just discovering Flower & Flame, this episode is the perfect place to catch up on the heart behind everything we've been talking about this season. Our prayer is that you'll walk away encouraged, equipped, and reminded that the local church is the place where discipleship thrives. It's the place where God intends to not only grow you, but use you for His glory. Discipleship isn't reserved for the experts. If you're following Jesus, He's inviting you to help others follow Him too. Thanks for being part of our first season, and we can't WAIT to see you in Season 2!!! πŸ’πŸ”₯
From Miscarriage to Miracles: Heidi's Testimony | Ep. 17
Explicit
πŸ”₯ SHOW NOTES πŸ”₯πŸ’ ⚠️TRIGGER WARNING⚠️ This episode contains graphic and emotional discussion surrounding miscarriage, pregnancy loss, infertility, and medical trauma. Please listen with care for your heart 🩢 Heidi dreamed of having "the perfect family" for as long as she could remember. Growing up as a minority in a small rural town, Heidi experienced deep wounds, rejection, and brokenness in her childhood---and longed for the day when she could build a complete, loving family of her own. But although she grew up in Church and believed in God, that dream (over time) slowly began to eclipse Jesus Himself within her heart. In today's episode, Heidi vulnerably shares her journey through heartbreak, infertility, miscarriage, grief, and devastating loss after going into labor at just 25 weeks pregnant with her daughter. She opens up about the depression that followed, the questions she wrestled with, and how God lovingly revealed that her desire to become a mother had quietly become an idol in her heart πŸ’” But this testimony doesn't end in despair β›… As Heidi surrendered everything back to Jesus, He met her in her grief, restored her faith, surrounded her with community, and reminded her that He is still good---even in suffering. But over time, through a series of unmistakable moments, God promised Heidi that she would one day have a child without medical intervention. And as He always does, He kept His Word πŸ’— Today, Heidi is the joy-filled mother of a beautiful little boy, and her story stands as a reminder that God's timing CAN be trusted---because He really is Who He says He is β˜€οΈ 🧺 RESOURCES Organization that helped Heidi at the hospital at the day of her daughter's birth: https://footprintsontheheart.org/ Ministry that helped Heidi emotionally and spiritually process her pregnancy loss: https://waitingforbabybird.com/ 🀝 CONNECT WITH US πŸ“· Instagram: / flowerandflamepodcast πŸ“§ E-mail: hrywildflower@gmail.com 🎼 CREDITS [Intro/Outro Music] Artist: Xyck πŸ’ͺ OUR TEAM "B"---Executive Producer Xyck---Videographer/Producer/Composer Laine Christopher---Social Media Manager Wildflower Women's Bible Study---Best Friends/Cheerleaders/Prayer Warriors/Comrades in Christ
Wait...But How Do I Actually Disciple Someone? | Ep. 16
πŸ’πŸ”₯SHOW NOTES Discipleship sounds important...but what does it actually look like? In this episode, we're getting honest about the fact that there's no one-size-fits-all formula for discipling someone. You can't just follow a checklist---you have to depend on the Holy Spirit every step of the way. But that doesn't mean it's random either. We talk about how discipleship is: ✨ 1. Customized---the way you walk with someone through following Jesus should reflect who they are (their personality, their struggles, and how they connect with God) ✨ 2. Delegated---real discipleship means giving away authority---not holding on to it. This is how they learn to hear from the Holy Spirit for themselves. We also dive into how Jesus discipled people differently: πŸ‘€ Peter vs. John---same Jesus, but very different approach πŸ‘€ The 72 disciples---and how they came back different people after being given authority to serve Jesus So basically, you don't have to wait until you feel "ready" to disciple someone. If you follow Jesus, you're called to make disciples too. Not only CAN you do this...you're meant to πŸ’• 🀝 CONNECT WITH US πŸ“· Instagram: / flowerandflamepodcast πŸ“§ E-mail: hrywildflower@gmail.com 🎼 CREDITS [Intro/Outro Music] Artist: Xyck πŸ’ͺ OUR TEAM "B"---Executive Producer Xyck---Videographer/Producer/Composer Laine Christopher---Social Media Manager Wildflower Women's Bible Study---Best Friends/Cheerleaders/Prayer Warriors/Comrades in Christ
From Secret Shame to Grace-Filled Worship: Breezy's Testimony | Ep. 15
Explicit
πŸ”₯ SHOW NOTES πŸ”₯πŸ’ In this episode, Breezy shares her powerful testimony of growing up in a Christian home while navigating fear, brokenness, and hidden sin---and how an encounter with Jesus changed everything. As the youngest of five, Breezy was raised by a faithful mother while her father had walked away from the Lord before she was born. Growing up, she struggled with fear, isolation, and the weight of watching her siblings drift away from faith. Even in the midst of that, Breezy encountered the Holy Spirit at a young age and knew deeply that God was real---and that He loved her. But soon after this, Breezy began battling an addiction to pornography. Shame kept her silent, and the loneliness of the pandemic only intensified her struggle. Then, during summer 2020, everything changed. Through an online summer camp, Breezy realized she had never truly surrendered her life to Jesus. In a moment of clarity, she recognized that the only thing she had to offer the King of kings was whole self---but He saw her as deeply valuable. Since that moment, Breezy has experienced true freedom. Today, she walks boldly with the Lord, free from addiction, and is stepping into her calling as a worship leader---radiating the love and light of Christ to everyone around her. Why Does Discipleship Matter? | Ep. 14
πŸ’πŸ”₯SHOW NOTES What does it actually mean to follow Jesus--and help someone else do the same? In this episode, we're talking more about discipleship and how it matters more than ever. We deep dive into Hebrews 11 and unpack the idea that faith isn't meant to be held onto---it's meant to be passed on. Think of it like a baton in a relay race---someone handed it to you, and now you get to run your leg faithfully and pass it on to the next generation. We also get real about the difference between discipleship and therapy (because, yes, you probably need both πŸ‘€), and how discipleship is what helps us build endurance to actually run our race of faith with God. At the end of the day, discipleship is bigger than us. It's about joining the story of the "great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1)" to the divine beauty of Jesus Christ---receiving faith from those who came before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, and pouring into the people coming after us. In this episode, we talk about: - Hebrews 11 and the "race of faith" imagery - The difference between discipleship and therapy (and why both matter) - Spiritual legacy and "passing the baton" - How discipleship builds endurance in your walk with God - Being poured into vs. pouring out into others Key Takeaway: You weren't meant to run your race of faith alone---and your faith was never meant to stop with you βœοΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈβ€βž‘οΈ 🀝 CONNECT WITH US πŸ“· Instagram: / flowerandflamepodcast πŸ“§ E-mail: hrywildflower@gmail.com 🎼 CREDITS [Intro/Outro Music] Artist: Xyck πŸ’ͺ OUR TEAM "B"---Executive Producer Xyck---Videographer/Producer/Composer Laine Christopher---Social Media Manager Wildflower Women's Bible Study---Best Friends/Cheerleaders/Prayer Warriors/Comrades in Christ

What Does "Discipleship" Mean? | Ep. 12
πŸ’πŸ”₯SHOW NOTES Discipleship is powerful---which means it can either form people into Christlikeness or deeply wound them. Let's talk about what healthy, Biblical discipleship actually looks like. In this conversation episode of flower & flame, we define what Biblical discipleship truly is---and what it is not. We talk about the difference between discipleship and mentorship, and why spiritual health matters when influence is involved. Anchored in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), we explore how best to use the authority and influence Jesus entrusted to His Church. We also have an honest conversation about how unhealthy spiritual leaders can cause real harm---even abuse---when influence is not submitted to Christ. We even referenced the current public example of the false prophecy controversy connected to Bethel Church as we reflect on the dangers of power disconnected from integrity. We close with this reminder: Scripture is the final authority over every leader. When influence contradicts the Bible in its full context, it is loving and faithful to call one another back to Truth and wholeness. Discipleship should produce humility, repentance, and Christlikeness---not control or fear. 🀝 CONNECT WITH US πŸ“· Instagram: / flowerandflamepodcast πŸ“§ E-mail: hrywildflower@gmail.com 🎼 CREDITS [Intro/Outro Music] Artist: Xyck πŸ’ͺ OUR TEAM "B"---Executive Producer Xyck---Videographer/Producer/Composer Laine Christopher---Social Media Manager Wildflower Women's Bible Study---Best Friends/Cheerleaders/Prayer Warriors/Comrades in Christ
From Clinging to Shame to Clinging to Christ: Laine's Testimony | Ep. 11
πŸ’πŸ”₯ SHOW NOTES πŸ”₯πŸ’ In this episode of flower & flame, our friend (and social media manager!), Laine, shares her story of growing up in church, loving Jesus from a young age, and eventually realizing that knowing about God isn't the same as knowing His heart. After her parents' divorce, Laine began tying her worth to belonging and performance---trying to be "good enough" to secure love. In college, through a Christian campus ministry and a close-knit women's Bible study, Laine started to confront the fear of losing love that she'd had for years. As self-condemnation tightened its grip, Jesus met her in the middle of her pain and enlightened the reality of the Gospel: His love is based on what He has done for her, not what she can do for Him. Though still in process, Laine now clings to the promise of Romans 8:1---that there is no condemnation for whose who are in Christ Jesus! And almost as important, Laine will tell you that choosing the hard that God offers is ALWAYS better than choosing the hard the world gives 🀍 🀝 CONNECT WITH US πŸ“· Instagram: / flowerandflamepodcast πŸ“§ E-mail: hrywildflower@gmail.com 🎼 CREDITS [Intro/Outro Music] Artist: Xyck πŸ’ͺ OUR TEAM "B"---Executive Producer Xyck---Videographer/Producer/Composer Laine Christopher---Social Media Manager Wildflower Women's Bible Study---Best Friends/Cheerleaders/Prayer Warriors/Comrades in Christ
Does it Matter if I Go To Church? | Ep. 10
πŸ’πŸ”₯SHOW NOTES In this episode of flower & flame, we talk about why committing to a local church still matters---especially in the 2020s. Building on our last conversation about covenant, we explore how intimacy with Jesus grows through consistency, just like in any meaningful relationship. We unpack why so many Christians are opting out of church today, and why choosing to be an active participant of a local church is actually a wise and spiritually-forming decision. The local church is where believers experience oneness of the Bride of Christ, learn how to serve, get wise counsel, practice forgiveness, and build real relationships with people who think differently than we do. Our unity as believers doesn't just shape us---it shows the watching world Who Jesus is and how deeply He loves them 🀍 🀝 CONNECT WITH US πŸ“· Instagram: / flowerandflamepodcast πŸ“§ E-mail: hrywildflower@gmail.com 🎼 CREDITS [Intro/Outro Music] Artist: Xyck πŸ’ͺ OUR TEAM "B"---Executive Producer Xyck---Videographer/Producer/Composer Laine Christopher---Social Media Manager Wildflower Women's Bible Study---Best Friends/Cheerleaders/Prayer Warriors/Comrades in Christ
From Bondage to Legalism and Addiction to Beloved in Christ: Savannah's Testimony | Ep. 9
πŸ’πŸ”₯ SHOW NOTES πŸ”₯πŸ’ ⚠️TRIGGER WARNING: This episode includes discussions of sexual assault, addiction, and suicidal ideation. Listener discretion is advised. πŸ“ž NATIONAL SUICIDE HOTLINE: 9-8-8 πŸ’πŸ”₯ What happens when faith is built on rules instead of relationship---and curiosity is met with shame instead of compassion? In this deeply honest episode of flower & flame, Savannah shares her testimony of loss, healing, and radical redemption. Growing up in a military family and an extremely strict, religious environment, Savannah learned early that modesty, obedience, and rules were everything. Although she professed faith in Jesus at a young age, she began to question why the rules existed---questions that were not warmly welcomed. Instead of being discipled through this curiosity, Savannah was silenced. Her pain started to turn into trauma in her early 20s when she was sexually assaulted in a relationship, turning to addiction to substances to cope. At her lowest, Savannah even considered taking her own life. But God wasn't finished with her story. The unexpected inspiration of friends, Savannah met a Biblical counselor who helped her process her trauma, confront her brokenness, and rediscover Jesus---her wonderful Savior Who deeply loves her. This episode is for the girl who: 🌷 Feels crushed by religious pressure 🌷 Has walked through trauma or abuse 🌷 Is questioning religion, but still longing for Jesus 🌷 Wonders if healing is really possible for her As of the date of this episode release, Savannah is now celebrating 4 YEARS OF SOBRIETY!!!
