Swords Into Plowshares EP26
In this episode Larry and I begin with a quote from one of E. Stanley Jones' books and talk about the rule and reign of God among men. From the intro... How many years ago was that? E. Stanley Jones. 1935. 70, 90 years. What road is that? We ever been down that road? 90 years ago. What book was it you read now? Christ. What is the name of it? I don't know you read it. Christ's Alternative to Communism.
You Are Embraced EP25
In this episode Larry and I talk about how God our Father has always and forever embraced us! We take a look at the story Jesus told about the prodigal son and how his father treats him and his brother! From the intro... Where's your coffee? I just drank it. It wasn't very hot. Pull over and take a right. See what happens. You remember that? No, no, that's so funny. See what happens, I can't say it like you do. I probably couldn't say it again. You're feeling prodigal. But if you're going to read anything about the prodigal son, you at least got to go to the initial start, verse one and two of chapter 15. Just those two verses. Well, just start there.
Before Papa's Face EP24
In this episode Larry and I discuss the wonder of being in the face of God!! From the intro... We were talking earlier before we took our snack break about our origin and how before time began, before the foundation of the world, before we were born, God is working a plan about our origin in Christ, how we are made in His image and likeness and how that the relationship that God the Father, the Son, and Spirit enjoy is, that's our origin. That's our destiny.
God's Plan Includes You EP23
In this episode Larry and James talk about the plan of God that was before the ages and now is unfolding in time and how it includes all people. From the intro... That's pretty good coffee, James. Thank you, Larry. It's the best part of it. I try. It's the best cup of coffee I could get out in these parts. I guarantee you, there's some water out there in the road. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if it did much for coffee. That was Larry's typical way of trying to pay somebody a compliment. I thought it was a compliment. It's pretty good coffee. It's a little better than the mud. I can find out here in these woods. It's just a little better than the mud over there in the ditch. Oh, it's good. It's good. It's all good. You see anything there you want to talk about? Well, looking through, this is your copy of The Passion. I do notice that in things that you've underlined and circled that help words stand out, you've circled the word plan.
Oh, Satisfy Us!! EP22
In this episode Larry and James discuss a verse from the Psalms looking at the concept of finding our satisfaction in God!
Talking To Papa EP21
In this episode Larry shares some personal stores about learning to pray and we talk about various things that we've learned. In the church I grew up in, there were a lot of people there that taught me various things about the Lord. And one of the things that I learned was just about prayer. Because we were a praying church and I heard all kinds of people pray about all different kinds of things and subjects. And I made all kinds of observations as I'm learning to talk to this God that I have met. Yeah. Okay. At seven years old. At seven years old. You know God bless my mama for every night that she took me in. Say your prayers. You know. So I did. Read my Bible. Say my prayers. So I'm starting this conversational relationship with this person that is spirit that is now in me. And what's that like? And they taught me enough to know that hey just be yourself. Talk to him. You're praying in Jesus name. Don't worry about fancy words or written prayers. Just talk. So that's kind of where I got my start which was a real help. But there was one guy in particular in the church, an older man.
The Mystery That Was Always There EP20
In this episode Larry and James discuss what God is showing us regarding the presence of Christ IN the nations! We begin by talking about how Jesus died our death and delivered us from its grasp, having made us alive in Himself!! If he died, then all were dead. All were dead. Yeah. All died. But he gives life to dead things. He did. Yeah. Because he went straight into our death and brought us back out of it. He led captivity captive. He did. He did. Were you captive? He has the keys to death and hell. We all were. Yeah, in Adam. In Adam. Come on somebody. All were getting to the heart of it now. But now we've all been made alive in Christ. Now we're getting to the heart of it. See Jesus came and he looked at people in light of his finished work. He looked at people through the lens of the original blueprint of God. He didn't see them as we saw them and judged them. He saw them as lost sons and daughters and he was on a mission to bring them home to the Father. He did it. He knew every person had value and worth. He knew every person was made in the image of his Father. He knew we were lost in darkness and our blindness and held captive. But everything that we struggled with and everything that was against us, he came as a man, walked straight into it and faced it and conquered it, dealt with it in every shape, form or fashion. In relation to his Father. In relation to his Father. And pulled it off the table and said, now you're mine, you're in me and I'm making all things new and it starts today!! "But God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and has raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." -Ephesians 2:4-6 NKJV
Life In, With And Through God EP19
In this episode Larry and James start out talking about how we were never separated from God, because He associated us in Christ before the foundation/fall of the world/cosmos. I quote verse 18 in Acts 17 that follows the theme verse for our show, it reads... "for in Him we live and move and have our being..." God is animating our very being!! Thanks for listening in, feel free to reach out to us at www.findingourway.co Blessings
Face To Face EP18
In this episode Larry and James discuss what we are learning about our origin, where we have come from as well as the beautiful relationship that is ours with and in our Father! Just like Adam, Adam's one transgression affected us all. Jesus' one act of obedience at the cross has affected us all. But in Adam all die and in Christ all live. And that's where we are now. This is the good news that we're to reorientate ourself to is that based on who Jesus is and what he's doing, we are no longer to think about ourself from an Adamic standpoint, but we are to think about ourself from a Christ standpoint.
Jesus Is LORD EP17
In this episode Larry and James talk about how that Jesus IS LORD!! Some of the transcript from the show... We are talking about how salvation has to do with you making Jesus Lord. Okay. Alright. That's a good thought. You've got to come in, you've got to make him Lord of your life. Yeah. Sometimes referred to as Lordship salvation. That's right. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I'd love to have your thoughts. Well, let's talk about him being Lord. Yeah. Because he is Lord. I don't make him Lord? No, he is Lord. He is Lord. That is who he is. Yes, he is. You might acknowledge him as such, you may submit to him as such, but he is Lord. In a new. Same idea, he's savior. Yes, he is. He is the Savior of the world!
