Episode notes
David could not defeat Goliath while wearing Saul’s armor. He had to fight with what God had prepared him to use.
In Episode 5 of Faith Without Works, Brandon examines David’s refusal of Saul’s armor alongside Paul’s command to put on the whole armour of God. The battle is spiritual, the enemy is real, and we cannot win by trusting in somebody else’s strength, experience, or equipment.
God has not called us into battle empty-handed. He has given us truth, righteousness, the preparation of the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, His Word, and prayer. The question is not whether the armor is available. The question is whether we are putting it on.
Faith isn’t just a suit on a Sunday. It must be lived when the battle comes.
