Episode notes
Welcome to Eternal Threads! 🙏
Hosts: Daniel Kline, Emily Kline
In today's episode, we delve into the early formation of Christian ideas by exploring the Gnostics. As more Gentiles began to follow Jesus, the diversity of backgrounds and philosophies among His early followers led to a wide array of ideas. Various philosophers and teachers sought to integrate the story of Jesus into their cultural understanding of the world while unifying these beliefs with their own.
Our guest, Dr. David Brakke, will weave this story together, broadening our understanding of this pivotal period and providing greater context to the development of what it means to be a Christian. He will also offer a brief background on the texts discovered at Nag Hammadi, which have been critical to our modern understanding.
Whether you're a believer or still seeking, we invite you to join us on this journey of discovery. We hope that fostering a personal relationship with God will transform your life, just as it has transformed ours.
God Bless. 🫶
