He gained his eerie nickname due to his physical appearance, which often involved brutal assaults and strangulation, evoking the image of a gorilla. Nelson's criminal activities began with petty crimes, but escalated to more violent offenses, leading to the deaths of multiple women. His ruthless acts caused widespread panic, and he was eventually apprehended in 1927. After his capture, he was tried and sentenced to death, being executed in 1928.
