After all, videos racking up millions of views keep appearing, claiming that the world’s most famous artificial island is slowly sinking into the sea. But is there any truth to it? To understand that, we need to look at what these multi-billion-dollar assets are actually built on. You see, a rule applied during the Palm’s construction that sounds completely absurd at first: the foundation couldn't be made of concrete or steel—only sand and rock.
