INDIAN COURT SUMMONS POLICEMEN IN 2020 ANTI-MUSLIM MASSACRE

A court in India has summoned two Delhi Police personnel to appear on February 24, 2026, in connection with the death of a Muslim man, Faizan, whose assault during the February 2020 violence in northeast Delhi was captured in a widely circulated video. Reports say the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a charge sheet after the Delhi High Court transferred the probe from Delhi Police in 2024, citing serious concerns about the earlier investigation. The charge sheet alleges offenses including culpable homicide not amounting to murder and causing hurt, and reporting indicates a murder charge was not retained, a point that may be contested as proceedings continue. The case is among the most closely watched riot accountability matters linked to the 2020 Delhi riots, which left at least 53 dead and displaced families in areas with large Muslim populations. This video breaks down what is confirmed, what remains unclear pending court scrutiny, and why the legal process matters for community safety, human rights, and public trust in criminal justice in India.

MUSLIM GROUP PUTS DOWN DEPOSIT TO BUY LONDON SYNAGOGUE

In this video we explain the United Kingdom story in East London: Ashaadibi Education & Cultural Centre, a Muslim charity in Tower Hamlets, says it has paid a deposit to secure a contract to buy the East London Central Synagogue on Nelson Street. The building was due to be sold at auction with a guide price of about £2 million before the listing showed it was sold prior. Reporting cites a deposit of roughly £235,000–£250,000 as the charity fundraises to complete the purchase and renovate the site, with plans to convert the disused synagogue into a mosque, community hub and education centre. We reference The Jewish Chronicle, the Acuitus auction listing, and Charity Commission records, and note the sale was on behalf of the Federation of Synagogues. We break down what’s confirmed, what’s disputed, and why it matters for Jewish heritage, Muslim community space, planning rules, and interfaith relations in London. Comment: how should heritage protection and community needs be balanced?
