After six months of downsizing my life to fit inside an SUV, it’s finally time to leave Rhode Island. The problem? Right before I left, Rhode Island gave me the summer of a lifetime. In the first episode of Dating America, I’m talking about the heartbreak that comes with choosing to leave a life you actually love—the friends, the familiarity, the memories, and the nagging question: Am I making a mistake? Maybe Rhode Island is home. Maybe it isn’t. I don’t actually need to know yet. Nothing about this adventure is permanent. But I’ve spent my whole life dating the same place. I think it’s time I see other people. And so, Dating America begins.
