Episode notes
I’ve invested heavily in my business almost from the beginning.
Courses, masterminds, mentorship, brand work. I followed the advice to get into bigger rooms, learn from people ahead of me and be the smallest fish in the pond.
And I learned a fucking lot.
But recently I realised there was a problem.
When you spend all your time watching people who are making millions, it’s very easy to start making decisions as though your business is at the same stage as theirs.
Mine isn’t.
I was thinking about methods, frameworks, brand anchors, movements, offer suites and all the things established business owners were teaching me to build.
Meanwhile, I was still figuring out what I actually wanted to be known for.
I’ve also followed advice about premium positioning and raising my prices because of my corporate background and sales experience. On paper, it made sense.
But people were watching me, liking what I was doing and connecting with my story while still being confused about exactly what I did.
That was fucking frustrating to admit.
So I’ve made some decisions that could look like I’m going backwards.
I’m simplifying what I want to be known for. I’m lowering my 1:1 price. I’m bringing back free strategy calls and intensives. And instead of trying to hold this huge business vision all at once, I’m giving myself space to do more of the work I actually want to become known for.
The work around expression, identity, conviction and helping women feel dangerously good being fully themselves.
I still fucking love sales. That isn’t disappearing.
But I don’t need to force everything I know how to do into a method simply because I can help someone with it.
And weirdly, admitting that feels peaceful.
There’s nothing wrong with learning from people who are ten steps ahead of you. I want to keep doing that.
I just don’t want to forget which step I’m actually standing on.
What You’ll Learn
- How modelling much more established businesses affected the decisions I was making in mine
- Why more frameworks and refinement eventually made my positioning more confusing
- Why I’m simplifying what I want to become known for
- Why I decided to lower my 1:1 price and bring back free calls and intensives
- What I’m learning about giving my business room to evolve instead of forcing clarity too early
- Why taking a step back doesn’t automatically mean you’re moving backwards
