The Parable of the Ten Virgins
Explicit
The Parable of the Ten Virgins Matthew 25:1-13 This wedding portrays some important features of the coming of Christ, and Christ uses them to give a warning to be ready for His return to earth. These lamps point out an important difference in the participants’ character and provide the lesson from this parable. “Five of them were wise and five were foolish” The wise took enough oil for their lamps but the foolish did not. The wise were prepared, the foolish were not. Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day
No One Knows That Day and Hour
Explicit
No One Knows That Day and Hour Matthew 24:36-51 “Two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left” (Matthew 24:40) is frequently spoken of as the experience of the rapture; namely, some will be taken with Christ in the rapture and some left. But the context says the ones taken here are taken for judgment (Luke 17:37) which means it is not the rapture. Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day
The Lesson of the Fig Tree
Explicit
The Lesson of the Fig Tree Matthew 24:32-35 The exhortation in the parable. “Learn” (Matthew 24:32). The parable begins with an exhortation to “learn” from it. This is the same exhortation we need when we read Scripture. We do not read Scripture just to say we have read the Bible through in a year but to “learn” from the Word of God. • The example in the parable. “When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh” (Matthew 24:32). The fig tree example illustrates how the early growth of the tree is a forecast of things to come. It is an example of what these forecasted conditions indicate regarding the end of the age. “So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors” (Matthew 24:33). Since many of these conditions are in existence today, we are obviously near the time of the end. We can be justified in saying, “Look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28). Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day
The Coming of the Son of Man
Explicit
The Coming of the Son of Man Matthew 24:29-31 “As the lightning cometh” (Matthew 24:27). Lightning is characterized by speed and suddenness. When looking at a stormy sky, suddenly lightning will streak across the sky. Christ’s return will be like that. In the midst of stormy conditions on the earth, suddenly Christ will return. The suddenness of the return warns there will be no time to repent when He returns. “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed” (Proverbs 29:1). The Abomination of Desolation
Explicit
The Abomination of Desolation Matthew 24:15-28 One of the conditions that characterize the end times is the corruption of worship in the Temple in Jerusalem.. It refers to abominable practices which led to desolation of the Temple a In Daniel 9:27; 11:31; and 12:11 are references to abominable practices in the Temple that resulted in the desolation. Some of the practices going on in our church services today with rock music and other like things makes it easy to understand how abominable practices will be performed in the Temple. God is to be worshiped in holy ways or judgment will be severe. Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day
Signs of the End of the Age
Explicit
Signs of the End of the Age Matthew 24:3-14 The teachings and signs of Matthew 24 do not concern the rapture of the church, a truth not yet revealed (1Th 4:14-17: 1Co 15:51-52). Instead they generally address matters which will occur during the Seventieth Week of Daniel, especially the Great Tribulation. Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple
Explicit
Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple Matthew 24:1-2 The sight of the temple at Jerusalem was one of the more outstanding sights in the ancient world. It was built of white marble and plated with gold. It shone in the sunlight so that a person could hardly look at it. For the pilgrim to Jerusalem, to come to Mount Zion was an impressive call to reverence and worship. Some of the temple's large supporting stones were forty feet in length and weighed one hundred tons. The cutting and moving of these colossal stones remains a mystery of ancient engineering But Jesus predicted its complete destruction, The new temple of "living stones" was yet to come. The people of God would be the temple of His presence, no matter where they met. Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly day
Jesus Laments over Jerusalem
Explicit
Jesus Laments over Jerusalem Matthew 23:37-39 The lament is definitely to show that the prophecy of Jesus was not given in a spirit of vindictiveness. His lament over Jerusalem frames the laments of "woe" in love. In lamenting the faithlessness of His countrymen in not reaching their destiny, He transfers their rejection of the prophets to Himself. He wept over Jerusalem; He would have gathered them like a hen gathers chicks under her wings. He no doubt was recalling . "Isaiah 31:5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it” But you were not willing" is a sad statement of judgment given at the very time that Jesus was leaving the temple. Seven Woes to the Scribes and Pharisees Part 2
Explicit
Seven Woes to the Scribes and Pharisees Part 2 Matthew 23:23-36 Fourth, their lack in understanding the will of God was expressed in caring about the trivia of ritual practices and minimizing the great moral precepts meant to be practiced: justice, mercy, and faith (Mat 23:23-24). Fifth, the scrupulous attention to the externals of religion led to a disregard of inner perversions (Mat 23:25-26). Sixth, the outward conformity of appearance to be seen of men often concealed the inner corruption of moral defilement (Mat 23:27-28). Seventh, in relating to the heritage of the religious community, they had copied the worst traits of their fathers, while seeking to disclaim responsibility for the sins of their fathers (Mat 23:29-31). Seven Woes to the Scribes and Pharisees Part 1
Explicit
The Pharisaic hypocrisy was exposed by Jesus in the manner by which it was being expressed. First, the legal experts had removed the keys of the kingdom, and neither entered the kingdom themselves nor assisted others to enter (Mat 23:13-14). Second, in spreading their influence among the Hellenistic world (the Gentiles), they insisted that all converts live by the laws as they interpreted them, and thereby they perverted rather than converted people (Mat 23:15). Third, their hairsplitting distinctions as to which oaths were binding perverted the understanding of God and man's relationship to Him as the Creator and Governor of the universe (Mat 23:16-22).
