The Unmarried Christians
Explicit
The Unmarried Christians 1 Corinthians 7:1-9 Paul was not married and advises against marriage for some. He is not advocating celibacy, however, for later he strongly denounces “forbidding to marry” (I Timothy 4:3) and puts it in the category of those who “depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (I Timothy 4:1). Don't Let Your Body Lead You Astray
Explicit
Don't Let Your Body Lead You Astray 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 Christians are to glorify God with their bodies. This means the way we care for the body, the way we dress the body, the places we take the body, the deeds we do in the body. It is dangerous for Christians to use their bodies for sin. Remember what happened to Samson and David! Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly Day
Settle Your Own Differences
Explicit
Settle Your Own Differences 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 Paul continues to warn the church in Corinth about the way in which it deals with certain problems affecting the witness of the church. Paul was concerned that two church members would have a disagreement and instead of settling it in the Spirit of Christ, would take each other to court Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly Day
Don't Condone Immorality
Explicit
Don't Condone Immorality 1 Corinthians 5:1-13 Paul now deals with the second problem that had been reported to him: immorality in the church and the refusal of the leaders to deal with the offender. How sad that such awful sin should be “commonly reported” and thus ruin the testimony of the church! Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly Day
Spiritual Parents
Explicit
Spiritual Parents 1 Corinthians 4:14-21 The analogy that Paul used to distinguish himself from all the others who had played a part in their spiritual pilgrimage was the difference between an instructor and a parent. In his use of "my beloved children" Verse 14 we see his feelings of love and tenderness for them. In Ephesians he counsels fathers not to be so harsh with their children that they would provoke them to wrath (Eph 6:4). Here Paul, functioning as a spiritual father, follows his own advice as he calls upon his paternal relationship with them as a basis for unity. Humble Servants
Explicit
Humble Servants 1 Corinthians 4:6-13 One of the great statements on the doctrine of grace. Verse 7 "what hast thou that thou didst not receive?" is a question that will create genuine humility in each of us, for everything that is lasting and worthwhile we have received at the hands of God. Paul knew that pride could be so divisive in the life of the church and that humility had a way of drawing people together. Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly Day
Let Jesus be our Judge
Explicit
Let Jesus be our Judge 1 Corinthians 4:1-8 Remember, Christ is the one who will judge us fairly. So, let’s not be judgmental of others, Insults and criticisms don’t deserve a fight back. God knows all the facts, and we probably know worse things about ourselves than the person criticizing us. The hidden works of darkness will be revealed, and Jesus will show us the true nature of our hearts. So, let’s live our lives carefully today, knowing that God will judge us. ye are the temple of God
Explicit
ye are the temple of God “The Spirit of God dwelleth in you . . . which temple ye are” When a person is saved, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in that person. This gives many blessings to the believer and makes the believer a spiritual temple of God. There are those who are or have been indwelt by unholy spirits or demons as they are often called. These demons cause all sorts of trouble for the one they indwell. But in contrast the Holy Spirit is nothing but blessing to the believer. Consequences of Divisions in the Church part 2
Explicit
Consequences of Divisions in the Church part 2 Consequences of Divisions in the Church part 2 Rewards will be lost 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Consequences of Divisions in the Church part 1
Explicit
Spiritual growth is stunted 1 Corinthians 3:1-9 One of the criticisms of Paul’s ministry by the Corinthians was that his messages were too elementary and simple. Here he answers that criticism by telling them why his messages were elementary and simple and why he gave the Corinthians such a simple spiritual diet. “I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ” verse 1. Paul had to speak with such simplicity in his preaching and teaching in Corinth because the people were carnal. “I have fed you with milk, and not with meat” verse 2. Furthermore, Paul had to give the people a simple diet in teaching because the people were unable to digest a more advanced teaching. “Hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able” verse 2. This problem of carnality and not growing up spiritually had existed a long time in the Corinth Church . Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly Day
