March 20th, 2026 — the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses made it official. In Governing Body Update Number 2 on JW Broadcasting, Gerrit Lösch announced that storing and reinfusing your own blood before surgery is no longer prohibited. It is now, in his exact words, a personal decision.
