Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He made a promise that would change everything: “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper… the Spirit of truth.”

Before the Spirit came:
• The disciples were promised the Holy Spirit
• They were promised power
• They were commissioned to be witnesses to the world
Then in Acts 2, the Spirit came. At Pentecost, believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in languages they had never learned, demonstrating God’s power and confirming His work. The same pattern continued in Samaria, Damascus, Caesarea, and Ephesus.
These events were not random repetitions, but strategic demonstrations that the Gospel was for all people. In a racially divided world, God used extraordinary signs to unite Jews, Samaritans, Gentiles, and others into one body through Christ.
This message helps clarify what happened at Pentecost, why tongues appeared in Acts, and how the Spirit’s arrival united the early Church. The coming of the Holy Spirit was not just about power—it was about building one people under one Savior.
