Episode notes
Have you ever heard someone say, “God told me…”? Sometimes the phrase is sincere. But sometimes it’s used to justify decisions, gain influence, or avoid accountability.
In this message, Dr. Rocky Ramsey examines the Third Commandment from Exodus 20:7 and explains why misusing God’s name is more serious than we often realize.
Scripture warns that people can misuse God’s authority to impress others, gain power, or support their own desires. The Bible also reminds us that our hearts can deceive us and our thinking can be wrong. So how do we know what God is actually saying?
The answer begins with the truth that God has already spoken through His Word. Instead of claiming divine authority for our own ideas, believers are called to humbly discern God’s will through Scripture, God’s character, wise counsel, and careful judgment.
