This episode of The Beat features James Mackey, who began his policing career in law enforcement in 1995 and now currently works for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office with 30 years of experience. Deputy Mackey encourages officers to understand homelessness and regards the lack of training for law enforcement as a significant issue that often leads to ineffective responses to individual’s experiencing homelessness.
