No problem you think, until you are laying there, and you realize that there is cause for concern. You try to remain calm, having transcribed countless results you know this often happens. But not to you. Pretty scary right? That was exactly how Wendy felt at that moment. But at that moment she could not have prepared herself for every woman's fear, and how that result would affect her life, the lives of those closest to her, and how it would change her forever. Wendy always the humorist, was facing something so big that she had a hard time finding comfort in making light and cracking jokes. Cancer was looming over her family and was threatening not only her life but the lives of close family members. Someone gets sick and you discover the result in your bathroom. Seems innocent enough so far. However, this sets off a chain reaction in your brain that will put you on a path that you will have to endure for longer than even you can fathom. That is Evander's story, this event created a response that put him in the grasp of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This disorder is often downplayed but for the people dealing with it, it is very real and bigger than society allows us to believe. Evander shares a piece of his story with me. His journey set him on a path of self-reflection, therapy, and new realizations to take his life back.
