If you’re buying an older Long Island home, don’t only ask what heats the house today. Ask about the property’s heating history.

And sellers: if an old tank was removed or abandoned, find your documentation before the buyer starts asking for it.

Sometimes the biggest question about a property is something you can’t even see.
