Episode 1 introduces the host, Ciera, and the main guest, Myah, who is a pre-service educator soon emerging into the professional field. This episode explores Myahs existing knowledge and perceptions of community college to provide a baseline for the knowledge gained through the podcast.
“Training and Community College” evaluates Myahs experience in her master's program and the presence of community college topics in her coursework.
Whether community college has been a focus in college and career readiness programming in high schools is the focus on episode 3, “Community College in College Prep.” Using Myah’s internship experience, we explore the ways community college is represented in their “College Go Week.”
Through casual conversation, “Discussion with a Prior Community College Student” provides unique insight into the experiences of a current student who began their higher education at a community college and transferred to a 4-year university in the fall of 2024.
The concluding episode, “Community College in Our Futures,” urges us to incorporate community college into our daily work and emerging careers, emphasizing the importance of educational access and opportunity.
