Episode notes
Does Mortal Kombat Annihilation deserve its bad reputation? Mortal Kombat II (2026) just hit digital VOD, now we look back at this infamous sequel...
On this episode of Comic Book Cinema, I'm joined by Jason G, Doctor Luke, and a Filipina Godess to revisit the infamous 1997 sequel that followed the surprisingly successful Mortal Kombat (1995).
From the recast actors and unfinished visual effects to the bizarre story decisions and unforgettable dialogue, we break down everything that went wrong with Mortal Kombat Annihilation and debate whether there's anything about it that is worth defending.
Was this movie doomed from the start? Is it truly the worst Mortal Kombat movie ever made? Or does nostalgia give it a little bit of a boost?
