From chasing Olympic dreams on the track to donning the navy blue of Carlton, Ian Prendergast’s story is one of grit, growth, and giving back to the game.

Once a rising AFL utility known for his preseason heroics and relentless work ethic, Ian transitioned from player to professional advocate — representing the voice of the athletes across the AFL and NRL through the Players’ Associations. Guided early by legendary manager Ron Joseph, he learned the complexities of sport beyond the boundary line — from contracts and career transitions to player development and welfare.

Now leading at Sports Advisory Partners Australia, Ian continues to shape the next generation of athletes and sporting organizations with the same passion he once took to the field.
