Episode notes

What actually makes someone interesting?

Hint: it’s not having cooler clothes, going on better vacations, being the funniest person in the room, or having some perfectly exciting life.

In Episode 103 of Claire in a Chair, I’m talking about why I think the most interesting people are actually the people who are the most interested in life.

They’re curious. They ask good questions. They try things. They pay attention. And most importantly, they’re figuring out what they genuinely like instead of just copying what everyone else is doing.

In this episode, I share three simple ways I think we can all become more interesting:

  1. Become genuinely interested in other people
  2. Actually do things that give you experiences and stories
  3. Pay attention to your own life so you can develop your own opinions and point of view.

We talk about having better conversations, trying new things, spending less time watching other people live through our phones, and becoming more confident in the things that make us different!

Because becoming more interesting isn’t about making your life look cooler to other people. It’s about becoming more curious about the life you already have and ACTUALLY participating in it.

Maybe the question isn’t, “Do other people think I’m interesting?”

Maybe it’s: “Am I interested in the life I’m living?”
