How To Save A Life with Gail Gould
Could you recognize a medical emergency? Would you know what to do before first responders arrive? This week on Claire in a Chair, I sat down with Gail Gould, "The CPR and Safety Lady," to talk about why CPR isn't just for doctors or nurses, it's something every teen should know. We talked about real-life situations where you might need to help someone, why people often panic during emergencies, and how being prepared can make all the difference. Gail also shared an incredible statistic after our interview: starting CPR immediately can double or even triple a person's chance of surviving cardiac arrest. It's a reminder that learning one skill could truly help save a life. I Started Listening To The Lyrics
Have you ever listened to a song hundreds of times and then one day really heard the lyrics? That's exactly what happened to me. In this episode, I'm sharing some of the song lyrics that have made me think differently about confidence, relationships, purpose, and life. Sometimes the best advice isn't found in a self-help book, it's hidden in a song you've been singing for years. I hope this episode encourages you to slow down, listen a little closer, and find wisdom in unexpected places. Website: https://www.claireinachair.com Instagram: @claireinachairpodcast
Get To Know Your Brain with Dr. Collier
In this episode of Claire in a Chair, I sit down with Dr. Crystal Collier to talk about something every teenager experiences, trying to make good decisions while dealing with stress, school, friendships, sports, social media, and everything else life throws at us. We get into why our brains sometimes seem to work against us and what’s actually happening behind the scenes. Dr. Collier explains the science in a way that actually makes sense. We talk about what people really mean when they say your brain isn't fully developed until 25, how stress affects the way we think, whether you should prioritize sleep or exercise, and simple habits that can help your brain stay healthy. I learned so much from this conversation, and I hope you leave feeling encouraged, understood, and reminded that your brain is still growing, and that's a really good thing. The Curiosity Crisis
Have you ever wondered how much you're missing simply because you never got curious enough to ask? In this episode of Claire in a Chair, I'm talking about the importance of curiosity in a world that seems to be losing it. From the growing literacy crisis to the embarrassing fact that I went two whole years not realizing I could skip a song because I was too lazy to look it up, I've been realizing how often we settle for not knowing. I'll share why downloading Substack unexpectedly reignited my love of learning, how curiosity can open doors to new ideas, and why I think we're not hungry enough for knowledge anymore. Plus, I'm sharing some of my favorite books and the stories that have stuck with me long after I turned the last page. If you've ever felt stuck, bored, or like you're just going through the motions, this episode might be the reminder you need to start asking more questions. Because sometimes the difference between staying where you are and discovering something amazing is simply being curious. I Tried Rejection Therapy...
In this episode of Claire in a Chair, I talk about trying something called rejection therapy and what it taught me about putting myself out there. I share a few moments that surprised me, like reaching out to people I admire and actually getting responses, and realizing that opportunities open up way more often than we expect when we just ask. I also talk about how I used to stop myself from trying things because I assumed the answer would be no, and how that mindset has slowly started to shift. This episode is really about learning not to limit yourself before you even try. It’s about asking the question, sending the message, and going for things even when there’s a chance of rejection. Because most of the time, the worst outcome really isn’t as scary as we think, and you genuinely never know what can happen until you try.
