CISLL is thrilled to bring you a new episode of CISLL Presents: A Language and Literacy Podcast! Our guest speaker is Dr. Adriana Weisleder. The co-hosts, CISLL graduate assistant Megan Andrzejewski and content expert Dr. Melissa Clucas Walter, join Dr. Weisleder.

Dr. Melissa Clucas Walter is an assistant professor of Human Development and Family Sciences at Northern Illinois University. She focuses her research on empowering caregivers, including families and early childhood education (ECE) professionals, to promote nurturing interactions in early learning settings. Her work aims to strengthen family dynamics and improve home environments while enhancing the skills and methods of educators working with young learners.

Dr. Adriana Weisleder is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Director of the Child Language Lab at Northwestern University. Her research focuses on early language development in young children from diverse sociocultural backgrounds, particularly dual language learners. A key objective is to enhance understanding of both typical and atypical language development and to address inequities in identifying and treating child language disorders.
