Charismatic expressions of tongues were unorthodox in the early church. The Bible says tongues were known languages. Gibberish and emotional outbursts were considered heresy by those in the early church. Warnings from the early church history are considered: Irenaus, Eusebius, Chrysotom, Augustine. Acts 2 and our mother tongue is discussed.
