Episode notes
You can know in your head that God loves you. You can quote all the verses. You can say "I am fearfully and wonderfully made" without blinking...and still walk past a mirror and feel your stomach drop. If that's you, it doesn't mean you're a bad Christian, and it doesn't mean you lack faith. There's something else going on, and that's what this episode is about.
I unpack why knowing truth doesn't automatically heal a story — and how the parts of us that got hurt at a specific moment in time keep running the show until they're actually met, not just corrected with a Bible verse. I share the story of the wounded part of me carrying beliefs from 17 years of betrayal in my first marriage, from sexual abuse, and from watching my body change through perimenopause — and what it looked like to bring Jesus into that place instead of trying to think my way out of it.
This episode also includes a short guided moment where I walk you through asking God directly: "What story have I been believing about myself because of my body?" I'd encourage you to find a quiet minute to actually sit with that question rather than just listening past it.
⚠️ Note: This episode touches on sexual abuse and marital betrayal. If you have little ones nearby, you may want to find a quiet moment to listen.
