Stoked to catch up with Greg Closier, a downwind foiling pioneer, foilboard designer and participant in the first ever week long SUP downwind foiling event organised by the French Surfing Federation.
I enjoyed discussing board design with Greg, unpacking some of the runs he has downwind foiled both in Brest, France, and LA, USA, and what conditions he is looking for and what equipment he uses depending on ocean or bay runs. Towards the end we go into how the event played out, what he learnt from the experience and ways to improve it for next time.
All in all I really enjoyed catching up with Greg and look forward to joining him on some of the downwind runs we discussed and hopefully compete in some events with him down the track.
