Last year a true freshman safety led the ACC in interceptions and sealed a College Football Playoff win over Texas A&M. Miami might be about to do it again. Bryce Fitzgerald set a bar nobody expecte: six picks, most in the conference, FWAA Freshman All-American, all as an 18-year-old. And here's the part that matters: coming out of high school he was 172 pounds and ranked around 133rd. He wasn't supposed to be that guy. Now there's another true freshman in that safety room. JJ Dunnigan is 6'3", 205, ranked as high as 92nd, and he ran a 10.94 hundred. Bigger than Fitzgerald. Ranked higher than Fitzgerald.
