This week Jane tells us about the brutal slaying of Jose and Kitty Menendez. Police didn’t initially suspect the now orphaned brothers, Lyle and Erik. Months later though the brothers were arrested for the crime. The trial took years to complete and multiple efforts for a final conviction. The case is currently under review for resentencing.

Deklan tells us about how hats were once made. The process involved using mercury and then it was noticed that hat makers were becoming ill with disturbing symptoms. It was eventually called Mad Hatter’s Syndrome.
