This week Jane tells us about the gangs of Chicago in the roaring 20s. The big hitters were the Chicago Outfit and the North Side Gang. During prohibition, all the Chicago gangs were trying to use bootlegging as a key source of income which often caused fights with the other groups. A particularly brutal event took place on Feb 14, 1929 leading to 7 members and associates of the North Side gang getting shot to death. The identity of the shooters has never been solved.

Deklan tells us about another cult, Heaven’s Gate. The leaders of the cult, Bonnie Nettles and Marshall Applewhite, formed it in 1974 but the headlines for the cult occurred in 1997. Members of the cult believed that a UFO was coming to earth to take them to the next plane of existence.
