The Greek word used for kindness in Galatians 5:22 is used 10 times in the New Testament, exclusively in Paul’s letters. Paul stresses the kindness of God toward us in Christ should not be abused but should grip us, captivate us, and motivate us to live godly lives. God’s abundant lovingkindness gripped the Old Testament saints, the early Christian church, and if we know it as we should will lead us to be full of kindness to one another.
