Ariel Birdie has long been intrigued by civilization. She replicates what she finds to be the most graphically interesting artistic recordings, depictions of mythology and language, and what lost worlds have been left behind to us. She did not go to art school… rather she studied anthropology in pursuit of these interests.
She began making art a serious pursuit later in life, finding confidence and motivation to put in the time required. For her, making art becomes meditation; a way to connect with nature, life force and the grounding energy we become distracted from in our modernity.
