Welcome to the first episode of Bike Talk Shorts! (well, kinda... hey... it's my first short! I'll get better making the Shorts short!) - We begin with Kathi Merchant, Co-Director of the 2019 Iditarod Trail Invitational as she dives into a bit of the history of the race, the trail as well as some of the competitors (from Iowa... it was for a news piece in Des Moines). It's all pure Bering Sea gold! Secondly, we talk with Flori Reiterberger on the couch of the host home of the 350-mile checkpoint in McGrath, Alaska. It's a glimpse into what brings someone from the other side of the world to the middle of remote Alaska in the winter. It's also Bering Sea gold! Enjoy this treasure from deep inside one of the most difficult races on the planet. I also share a funny (sort of) story about Flori!
