In it’s 49 years rolling across Iowa, The Register’s Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa, or RAGBRAI, has become a rolling parade of 20,000-plus stories. It’s my role to uncover some of them and share them with the world, so in 2022, my family and I packed our bikes, sleeping bags, tent (sans fly) and my microphone and set off for Sargent Bluff to roll for the next week across Iowa. 

I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into some of the people that make this such a great and unique experience. Whenever I caught sight of something or someone interesting, I grabbed my mic from it’s pouch and started recording! I met way more people than if I had just rolled through in search of pie, and most everyone was excited to tell their stories.
